VietNamNet Bridge – On December 12 in Johannesburg, South Africa, the Miss World Organisation handed the flag to Hoang Kieu, chairman of the US-based RAAS group, which will organise the Miss World competition in Vietnam next year.

Hoang Kieu received the flag from Julia Morley, Chairwoman of the Miss World Organisation.

Vietnam’s 2009 Miss World contestant Huong Giang was praised on website Globalbeauties as something of an exception because she is not a national beauty queen.

Giang made it into the top 16 of the pageant. She was also granted the title Beauty Queen of the Asia-Pacific.

The location of next year’s pageant in Vietnam has not yet been decided. Southern province Tien Giang is being considered over coastal tourist spot Nha Trang in Khang Hoa province. In 2008 the Miss Universe was held there.
