Samaritan to make trans-Vietnam tour to help poor people read

VietNamNet Bridge – Nguyen Quang Thach, founder of the “Family bookcase” project that encourages people to provide books for the poor, will begin a tour around the country on Lunar New Year’s Day, February 14, to promote the program in remote areas.
 
He will begin his trip at Van Mieu (Temple of Literature) in Hanoi – the country’s historic symbol of education -- at 1.30 pm and travel through 19 cities and provinces along National Highway 1A, including Ninh Binh, Ha Tinh, and Nghe An Provinces and Hue, Nha Trang, and Phan Thiet cities.

He will end the tour in HCMC.

Thach hoped his trip would encourage thousands of families to set up bookcases and bring knowledge to poor people living in the countryside or remote areas.

Mr. Thach has collected nearly 1,700 books and donated them to 19 families living in the northern and central regions.

In response to his appeals, many individuals and organizations have contributed books and money to set up more bookcases.

There are more than 40 of them in Hanoi and the northern provinces of Bac Giang, Thai Binh, Hai Duong, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, and Phu Tho and Hai Phong city.
