VietNamNet Bridge – The administration of the central province of Khanh Hoa on February 3 said that it would not host the Miss World 2010 pageant but is aiming to get it right with the much lesser known Miss Earth 2010.

Why RAAS withdraws from the Miss World pageant?

In the dispatch sent to Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan, Khanh Hoa said that it would not organize the Miss World 2010 pageant and blamed the RAAS Group’s incompetence. However, the province will host the Miss Earth 2010 in Nha Trang city.

Khanh Hoa has offered its backing to Tien Giang province or any other area or city which is able to host the Miss World following government permission.

However, Tien Giang province’s chairman Tran The Ngoc said that the province asked for permission to host Miss World 2010 but eventually offered instead to support Khanh Hoa. Moreover, the government didn’t permit Tien Giang to organize this event.

Though the memorandum of understanding to bring the pageant to Vietnam was signed, it is unclear whether it will take place in Vietnam or not.

Meanwhile, the RASS group said it is seeking permission to organize the Miss World pageant in Tien Giang province in 2011 or 2012.
