| Large embroidered painting celebrates Hanoi’s millennial anniversary |

VietNamNet Bridge – Senior embroiderers in Ninh Binh have been working on a large embroidered work entitled “Hon Thieng Dai Viet” (Dai Viet’s Sacred Spirit) (Dai Viet is a former name for Vietnam).
Nha Trang Sea Festival 2009 sets unique records
Funded by the Dong Thanh Fine Art Import-Export Company, the painting will depict historical events related to King Dinh Tien Hoang, King Le Dai Hanh and King Ly Thai To. The design was drawn by artists Nguyen Phuc Khoi and Do Nhu Diem, members of the Vietnam Arts Association.
The painting will be 33 meters long, 3.3 meters wide and will be embroidered by 1000 artisans. The work is expected to be completed on August 30, 2010.
Also in Ninh Binh province, Hoai Anh Service and Trade Company recently started embroidering another painting entitled “Ancient Capital of Hoa Lu – A Historical Vestige of Thang Long-Ha Noi” at a cost of 6 billion dong ($330,000).
